News from the camp | kolkata knight riders

The first two days of the KKR camp. For the last seven days, all of us have been playing a guessing game with airline bookings, not knowing which teams would be progress in the Ranji ODI tournament. And though it meant that we would have them in camp only after the 2nd of March, it's good to see Bengal progress. Our thoughts were also with Laxmi Ratan, who tragically lost his mother on the 18th. He showed immense courage and resolve to return and lead Bengal to the One Day final for the 3rd successive year.

We commenced our pre IPL camp on the 27th, with 9 players and a special emphasis on looking for a second keeper along with Wriddhiman. Some good candidates, include veterans Deep Dasgupta, Rohit Sabharwal and Thilak Naidu, and Sagar Jogiyani who has had an outstanding run with Saurashtra .

Day 2. 16 players in. This was slated as an all out fielding session with Dav and Adrian keen to see the players go all out. And they responded with some fire and commitment, running, diving and cheering each other’s efforts. Even Adrian was happy, which is saying a lot. Tomorrow, Sourav will come in and meet the boys, on his was back to Ahmedabad for the finals. And Owais Shah, the first of our international players, will be in. And finally, after two days at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake campus, we will be back home, at the Eden Gardens
