Although the HP Pavilion dv6500t has done pretty good so far, the Dell Inspiron 1520 has better components. The Inspiron has an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0GHz processor while the Pavilion has an Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8GHz one. Both laptops have 160GB of available disk space but the Dell model has 2GB of RAM while the Pavilion has only 1. Even the graphics card is better on the Inspiron (Nvidia 8600M GT) than the one on the dv6500t (nVidia 8600M GT) and if you are a game player than the Inspiron is more suitable for you. The wireless card is the same on both models but the battery on the Inspiron is better (and heavier since it's a 9-cell battery) than the Pavilion's 6-cell battery. Something we were really surprised to find out is that even if it has better features and more powerful components, the Dell Inspiron 1520 did not have any overheating issues. In fact, it runs quite smooth, quite and cool. Both laptops have the same Intel wireless system and you get a Bluetooth device with both of them. Although these notebooks look similar in features (let's face it, they are neither good nor bad), the Inspiron 1520 really stands out in comparison with its opponent, the slim-looking HP Pavilion dv6500t. They are both good option if you are looking for an acceptable mainstream laptop and you could also get any of them at a good price.

Pakistan has finally admitted the Lashkar-e-Toiba was behind the Mumbai terror attacks.
Even though there is no official confirmation but Pakistani Prime Ministers Office has told CNN-IBN that Lashkar-e-Toiba planned and executed 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
However, New Delhi is cautious about the admission with sources in the Ministry of External Affairs saying that India is looking for more tangible action.
The sources in Pakistani PMO said that two Lashkar operatives Zaik-ur Rehman Lakhvi and Zarar Shah have confessed to planning and executing Mumbai attacks.

After Rahul Bhatt, the names of few other film personalities have cropped up in David Headley case, including an actress who went out for dinner with him.
Sources said they came in contact with Headley through Rahul Bhatt and other common friends. Most of them met at Moksh fitness centre at Breach Candy where Headley used to work out. However crime branch officials said they have no information about any Bollywood personality being associated with Headley.
The source indicated that these film personalities will be questioned along with Rahul Bhatt by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Headley befriended the actors and partied with few of them, sources said. It could be possible that they were not aware of his terror links.
The actress in question was paired with some of the leading Bollywood actors. However, her family members told TOI that the actress was never introduced to Headley. "Its just a coincidence that they went to the same gym. My daughter has never heard about Headley," her mother said.

The two Bengali channels from the STAR stable, STAR Jalsha and STAR Ananda, will go pay from November. While STAR Jalsha is the GEC (general entertainment channel) offering, STAR Ananda is the ABP Group-STAR India news channel being distributed by STAR DEN.
STAR Jalsha and STAR Ananda will be priced at Rs 12 and Rs 6 respectively. However, the package deal including both the channels will cost only Rs 12.

Speaking to afaqs!, Gurjeev Singh Kapoor, chief executive officer, STAR DEN, says, “Both channels are popular and we expect a good declaration from the ground. The two channels have been reasonably priced. Being the No. 1 channel, STAR Jalsha is the STAR Plus or Colors of the Bengali market. Above all, the combo offer, with the GEC and news channels available at Rs 12, makes an attractive package.”
Without sharing the expected shift in the number of subscribers, Kapoor emphasises that they are expecting a high declaration from cable operators. With the two channels going pay, there will be a renewed effort in making them available across the market, turning them into a mass product.
Listing the markets being targeted by STAR DEN as part of its distribution strategy, Kapoor says, “Kolkata is a big market. Our focus is not only on West Bengal but we have set our sights on covering the entire eastern region as well. At the same time, we are tapping markets such as Assam as well.”

Australian cricket team has taken the charge of 7-match ODI series by 1-0 after winning the opening ODI match against home team India. Now, they will look for another victory to go ahead in the ongoing ODI series. Who do you think will get much importance in the second ODI match?
First ODI match between India and Australia was closely contested thanks to two tail order batsmen. In this match, Australia won by 4 runs. You should know that no Indian batsman played well in the opening match at Vadodara. However, it was record breaking performance made by Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Kumar. This pair scored 84 runs partnership in eight wicket stand. This pair remained India’s hope of winning the series. However, Harbhajan Singh was short of 1 run to fulfill his maiden ODI fifty. Praveen Kumar remained not out till the end of the match. Praveen Kumar scored 40 runs. It was his career best innings since ODI debut. He scored 49 runs from 31 balls. In this match, Harbhajan Singh reached 1000 land mark. Some cricket fans think that if Harbhajan Singh can play few more balls then India can win the match. Previous record was made by Kapil Dev and Kiran More. They made 82-run partnership against New Zealand at Bangalore in 1987 World Cup.

Mitchell Johnson found his mojo and combined with Doug Bollinger to reduce India to 27 for 5 before MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja fought hard to push it to 62 for 5 half-way through their innings in the sixth ODI at Guwahati.
Were the conditions so English that the ball was swinging wildly? No. Was the pitch aiding alarming movement? No. There was just a bit of movement, in the air and off the pitch, and Australia exploited it superbly to bundle India out.
Johnson, whose inability to swing the ball into the right-handers had blunted his threat in the recent times, found that inswing today and immediately looked a different bowler. With a slightly round-armish action which helped him to tilt the ball back in, Johnson gnawed away at the batsmen at disconcerting pace.
For a year Australians have fretted and puzzled over this man's inconsistency. They were proud of his performances against South Africa and cussed him over his poor showing in Ashes but they have always known that Johnson is a different bowler when he gets that inswing going.
Today was one such day. It was an early-morning start, the pitch was damp and there was hope in the air. The start wasn't flattering - his second delivery was whiplashed for a six over point by Virender Sehwag - but Johnson bounced back in the same over to start the demolition job. It was the full delivery, Sehwag shaped for his big drive but the ball curved in to thread the bat and pad gap and splayed the stumps.
Egged on by the success, Johnson went from strength to strength and unfurled his full repertoire: The rapid pace, the extra bounce, the slinging round-arm, and the consistent line and length. He removed Gautam Gambhir with little bit of help from the batsman, who perhaps was swayed by Johnson's bad days when the ball wouldn't swing away from the left-handed batsmen. It was a delivery on the off and middle and Gambhir shaped to work it to the on side as if he expected the ball to angle in to his pads but to his horror, the ball straightened to take out to the off stump.
Johnson went on to trouble Yuvraj Singh in the corridor before he took out Suresh Raina after harassing him with his bounce. There was something very obvious in the set-up - bowl a few short balls and push the batsman back before you slip in that fatal full delivery - but Raina fell for it again. Perhaps the ball stopped on him a bit, but Raina was late in getting forward to a full delivery and ended up flicking it straight to short mid-on.
If Johnson created an opening with his incisive bowling, it was Doug Bollinger who provided the perfect supporting act with his unspectacular but consistent seam bowling. There is nothing flashy about Bollinger; you know what you will get from him: the steady line and length, the changes in pace, and the ability to bowl to his fields and it was enough today to get him two big wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh.
Tendulkar was restricted to just one run from seven Bollinger deliveries when he pushed at a back-of-length ball a touch early. Perhaps, it stopped on him a bit and he ended up pushing it straight back to Bollinger who took a good reflex catch. There was a bit more luck in his second dismissal. The ball ricocheted off Yuvraj's pad over his right shoulder and as Yuvraj, clueless about where the ball went, turned behind to place the bat back inside the crease, he only succeeded in pushing the ball back to the stumps.
At the half-way mark, India's good run in bilateral series - they have lost just two out of 14 since 2006 - looked most likely to end.

Well-known journalist Prabhash Joshi died of a heart attack here late on Thursday. He was 72. Joshi was taken to a private hospital after he complained of chest pain at 11.30 p.m. where doctors declared him dead, hospital officials said. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
